Psychological Pressure

Exclusive interview: Bill: "I wanted to give up everything!" Bill had never been that thoughtful before! Only in BRAVO the Tokio Hotel-front man explains why he is so sad sometimes.

A record studio somewhere in Berlin-Schöneberg (GER). On the first floor stands Bill (20) with the 13 year old BRAVO reader Nora. She had won a small snchronisation role in "Arthur II" via BRAVO. The main character speaks Bill. The singer supports Nora right now, helps her with the recordings. Both are comfortbale to each other, Bill has a lot of fun, laughs all the time. But he shows a totally other side in the following BRAVO interview....

BRAVO: Bill, are you happy?
Bill: I'm totally happy with my career. Our new album "Humanoid" goes well. In most of the european countries it's even better in the charts than the last two albums!I wish it'd be like that in private. I don't know, what I need, to be satisfied - but I am unsatisfied.

BRAVO: Do you have a reason for this?
Bill: Maybe because I don't have time, to be happy about what I've reached. I can not be happy or celebrate our success. Because I always have to do something new. And there's still love missing. Sadly...

BRAVO: How could you find love?Could we help somehow?
Bill: I don't know it eigther. (sighs) There are a lot of people who try to find their love in reality shows. "Bill in love" wouldn't fit to me! To arrange feelings for a girl in front of a camera is not possible. That I get to know someone in private is improbable. I don't even get out of the house to shop.

BRAVO: Why don't you simply escape out of your world and go out without securiety?
Bill: To be honest I don't want to try that out, I'm also scared of doing it. Especially in europe it is hard for me to visit a club on my own. Even if bodyguards are with me I feel like being in a photo or signing session. Then I feel like an animal in a zoo. But that comes with being a celebrity. Maybe I get to know someone via my job - who knows? If love comes truely it happens by accident.

BRAVO: Are you satisfied with yourself then?
Bill: Sometimes I absolutely can not stand myself. Performance of myself, I don't watch them - on TV I hate myself! It also annoys me I always think about something! That I'm so nervous all the time and not relaxed.I always check if the door is locked twice. I almost check it ten times to be sure I hadn't forgot it. I guess I need to become more relaxed. That's it.

BRAVO: Are you afraid of the future?
Bill: Yes. Who knows what I'm doing in 5 or 10 years? My horror vision would be an office job! That's nothing for me. At school I had authority problems, too. I can not listen to someone else but me. I hope, I can always be my own boss.

BRAVO: Do you freak out sometimes - or are you always the "nice" guy?
Bill: I'm absolutely full of emotions, I often screamed at the others or team members, when something went wrong or didn't fit to me.

BRAVO: How do we have to imagine a "Tokio Hotel"-argument?
Bill: We've bet each other in the past. Nowadays it's more psychological pressure.

BRAVO: Seriously? How do we imagine that?
Bill: We don't talk to each other anymore. Or we cancel some dates because we know it: If I'm totally excited about the next photo-shooting and Tom's angry about me then he cancels the shooting secretly. But everything is fine the following day.

BRAVO: Did anyone say in an argument:"That's enough! I leave."?
Bill: No one said this loudly yet, but the thought of it surely had everyone. There also were moments I thought: "I don't do this anymore, I give up everything!"..and this thinking is still in my mind: "That I think, I just want to have time for me."

BRAVO: Could you explain some situations when you think like that?
Bill: When I don't know how to go on or if I don't have ideas anymore. Then there are days I only want to take my stuff - not to have anything to do with that band. But in the end I think of all the fans again, of the engery and fun they give us, the fun being front man of Tokio Hotel.

The other idea of German

German VOGUE article
Translated by Icey at LoveTH-Music.com
“Bill Kaulitz - The other idea of a German” - Karl Lagerfeld
Big Hair, Smokey Eyes, Sleek Chic – since Bill Kaulitz and his band Tokio Hotel had their first hit with “Durch den Monsun” in the summer of 2005, the 20-year-old singer with the unusual styling became a superstar. And a fashion icon.
He designed his favorite stage costumes himself. Even if he couldn’t draw well, his tailor knew what he meant. “Actually, I would like to wear outfits like these every time.”
And: “Without makeup, I feel dressed up.” His favorites: David Bowie in “Labyrinth”, Nena, Vampires, Paris, Secondhand Shops, striking jewelry and Dior Homme. He owns pants of the label in countless variations, also because they fit him perfectly.
“Otherwise there are hardly any clothes that don’t need to be changed for me.” Custom-made clothes are like a tradition in the Kaulitz-House: Bill’s mother is a seamstress and tailor. Already when he was a student, she sewed from several T-Shirts an unique one.
Recently, he collects braces, and Bill Kaulitz is also “totally crazy about jackets” – especially leather jackets. Hundreds of them are hanging in his closet – most of them in black. Too many to keep track of? “No, I could tell you a story to each jacket.”

We hope to sell 100 Million Albums!

French interview from ozap.com
Translation by bertrann92 from THA
Tokio Hotel: "We hope to sell 100 million albums!"
How many times have you come to France before this visit?
Bill: Uh ... twenty times at least!
And how many French artists you know?
Georg: Is it necessary to name them ? (laughter)

Maybe one or two ...
Georg: Well ... Gérard Depardieu ... Carla Bruni ... Justice!

OK ... then three! You may know that Carla Bruni is very sought after right now, would you consider a duet with her?
Bill: To be very honest ... we never heard her music! We only found out that she sang yesterday!

How many French fans have shouted your name?
Georg: It's gonna be a lot!
Tom: How many people live in France? (laughter)

Approximately 60 million ...
Georg: Well at least 60 million! (laughter)
Tom: No, to be honest, I doubt there has been !

It's been several years now that those millions of fans scream when they see you. Do you sometines think that these reactions are a little hysterical?
Tom: So far, zero times.
Bill: Not at all, rather the opposite!
Tom: From time to time, rumors say we are irritated because people scream incessantly. But I think that the screams are what's best for a group, and for us it is never too much.
It is we who have paid the video for "Automatic"
How many songs have you recorded this new album?
Bill: On the normal version of the album there are twelve songs, and there are sixteen of the collector version, but there has been much, much more!

And how these song represent an evolution from your previous albums
Bill: Actually, it's hard to truely describe this evolution. For us, it was a normal evolution, not something planned ... One does not say "bah right now, we will change things." In fact, since we had not not written in a long ago, we first asked what we wanted to write, so we tried many things with instruments, and that's how the new album was born.
How was the process of translating songs in to English?
Bill: We worked with four producers in the new album, because even if one speaks English well enough, we still need a little help. They, of course, speak fluent English.
Tom: And it's easier for us to write English than to speak it - in an interview for example (laughs).

Do you know how much it cost your clip for new single "Automatic"?
Tom: Yes (laughs). We were the ones who payed for it !

You pay your clips?
Bill: Yes, we invest in ourselves. Record companies have almost no money, and if you really want to have a nice clip, I think it is essential to invest.
Tom: I think it cost so much that we will not get a penny after working for six months.
Bill: I think we could easily buy two beautiful Ferrari with the price of this clip!

[we hate the paparazzi ]<-- random

Exactly, if there is less money in the safes of the labels is partly because of illegal downloading. You have young fans, and a certain number of them probably practice piracy. How do you react to that?
Bill: I hope they do no pirate our work!
Tom: Anyway, no one can escape the illegal downloading. It concerns the world of music entirely, and I think not one artist is immune to it. On the other hand, I think our fans love having the real CD, and when they find us they show us that they have bought our CD's.

How many times have you been asked if you were single?
Tom: In total? Not so often ...
Bill: If we weren't it would make world news { not sure if thisis right)
Gustav: Almost as many times as we asked where our name come from
Georg: At least a five-digit number, I think!

Do you feel the pressure from the press, with all these questions about your private life?
Bill: Yes! It hate the paparazzi! There are not any tricks in where on can loose a habit and truly there are times when one feels one's going to snap ... If we do whatever we want, but they can always find us.

Why not take our audience seriously?!
How many people attended your concerts in total?
Tom: Are you also counting the concert in Paris under the Eiffel Tower?
No, it's cheating that there were many other artists!
Gustav: 10 000 per concert venue in tours ...
Tom: So 400 000 per tour, and other concerts ...
Bill: There were three tours, so it must be total ... in 1.5 million?

And among these 1.5 million viewers, how many were girls?
Tom: I would say ... between 60 and 70%.

Do you not get the impression that this public very young and filled of very young women has prevent you from being taken seriously as a musician?
Bill: But why one does not take young girls seriously?

It is often said, for good or for bad, that young girls are more susceptible to trends ...
Tom: He must still say that our fans are very loyal, so I do not know if we can talk about trends. And then I think that we should not generalize. The image people have of our fans is a bit distorted, they think that they go for boy bands and that they range in the ages of 10-15, these fans are actually a little less faithful.

How many albums have you sold ?
Bill: Five million media, but I do not know how many CDs from this figure.

Some artists know what kind of numbers by heart: the number of sales positions in the charts ... Are these things that do not interest you?
Tom: No, actually, it does not really interest us ...

So if I ask how many CD's you hope to sell for your new album, then you say ...
Tom: 100 million! (laughter)

We will not cancel the concert due to swine flu!

A final question that has nothing to do with numbers ... Are you scared of swine flu?
Tom: (laughs) Georg scares us every day with that
Gustav: Now I'm more afraid of Georg than of swine flu! (laughter)
Bill: Georg told us not to be vaccinated because the vaccine has not been tested ... It's just the vaccine from a pharmaceutical company!

A great French artist, that you may know, Johnny Hallyday, recently had to cancel a concert in the meeting due to swine flu. ..
Tom: Yes, we know him, he was in Star Academy with us.

Are you afraid of finding yourself in his situation and having to cancel some concerts?
Bill: Canceling a concert? No! We take planes every day, we are with fans all day, so I do not see why we would cancel a concert ... It is difficult to be protected, so if one is going to be sick it is inevitable.
Georg: Yes, but in large spaces such as a concert hall, the risk of contamination is higher ... So it's more dangerous for the fans!
Tom: Very good point, George

Tom & Bill have a Roller Coaster Party

Tom & Bill – Rollercoaster PartyWhat a cool Birthday pary! To celebrate their 20th birthday on Septermber 1st the Tokio Hotel Twins Bill and Tom rented out the whole Heide Park Soltau – only for themselves and their 20 closest friends and relatives. Absolute madness!
Bill: “With this day, we fullfilled our childhood dream. It was so incredibly wicked. We stayed in the park until late in the evening.” And the guys tried everything out. Loops with the roller coaster, wildwater rafting and the Free Fall Tower – again and again all day long. “We tried everything out, that revolves somehow.”
Funny: To prevent the Kaulitz-hairstyles from getting destroyed and to make sure that their clothes stayed nice and dry, Bill and Tom put some rain capes on for protection. At the end of the crazy party the identical Twins stumbled – completely shaken, but happy – out of the amusement park with their guests. Bravo says: Happy Birthday!

Bill & his Dogs

LoveTH-Music.com has translated the article in the new Bravo, no scans yet:
Tokio Hotel – Exclusive in Bravo: Bill shows his cuddly friend!

Tokio-Hotel-Rocker Bill Kaulitz lost his heart – to a dog! Bravo shows you the sweet Pictures!
Those are the cutest pictures of the week. Tokio Hotel star Bill Kaulitz (20), like we have never seen him before. He sits in the Tourbus with his best friend. They travel together through Europe – they like to cuddle. It’s not a human – but a dog. BRAVO shows you the exclusive snapshots of the German world stars.
“It’s a little dachshund girl. Totally dear, sweet, and cuddly.” Bill told us, with a radiant smile on his face, in the Bravo Interwiev. “She is a little bit spoiled. But that’s a good thing. I would do anything for my dogs. I love them madly!” The Tokio Hotel-Star doesn’t want to give away the name of the Lady-Dog. He’s afraid that when a lot of people call out her name that the dog might be upset by it. By the way, Bill rescued the sweet dachshund girl from the shelter.
This proves that Bill has an XXL heart! And the fact, that the dachshund feels great with Bill on it’s side, is hard to miss. The little dog is even a Super-Fan of Tokio Hotel. “She loves our music.” the singer laughs, “Well, ‘Durch den Monsun’ she now hear a little bit too often. But when she ‘Humanoid’, she always starts wagging with her tail.”
At home in Hamburg, Bill and his twin brother Tom (20) have 3 more sweet barking dogs: another Dachshund, a Doberman-Labrador mongrel and a German Shorthair. AND: All of the 4 dogs sleep with Bill in his bed. “I could never give up my dogs,” the Tokio Hotel frontman makes clear.
“I don’t care about the fact that a dogs place is not in a bed – the closer they are to me, the more beautiful it is. I can just give everyone the advice: Take your dogs into your bed. They often wake me up in the morning by nudging their nose into my face.” he says. “It’s nice to see how they enjoy some of the simplest things.”
Will more dogs follow? “The 4 dogs are, probably, enough for now. But who knows, maby someday we’ll have 10 animals…”

Tokio Hotel Wants Privacy!

German Tokio Hotel draws attention to themselves wherever they go. For better or worse, according to the members. "We have not had any privacy since we were 15," lead vocalist Bill Kaulitz says. The new album Humanoid will soon be released.
German Tokio Hotel draws attention to themselves wherever they go. For better or worse, according to the members. "We have not had any privacy since we were 15," lead vocalist Bill Kaulitz says. With six million sold CDs, Tokio Hotel is one of the biggest pop groups in the world. And when they visited Stockholm on Tuesday to promote the new album hundreds of teenage girls waited outside the hotel.
"Our fans are the best you can imagine, they are intense but supportive. After working hard, it feels great to come back and be received like this, "s Bill Kaulitz says.
But attention comes with a price, and the 20-year-old members have previously followed by too close for comfort fans. Last spring the band's fanclub joined in an action against the stalkers.
"They are sick people, people who need help. Of course it is very scary, but if you're famous it is more less inevitable" Bill Kaulitz says.
He speaks for all members in saying that Tokio Hotel loves to tour, but admits at the same time that the group, which has existed since the early teens, soemtimes dreams abouit a totally different life.
"There will be days when you wish you lived a normal life, that you could go out and meet friends, go to the movies or go shopping. There is nowhere where we can hide to have privacy. But you get used to it."
And good is that., because in the nearest future the pressure on the four teenage idols will not get any less. In less than one month they will release their third album in a German and in an English version. A couple of the songs unfortunately leaked online last summer.
"It was the worst thing that could have happen to us, you feel so attacked as an artist. they weren't even finished versions. those thinsg cannot go unpunished " Bill Kaulitz says.
Exactly when Tokio Hotel come to Sweden for a concert is not determined, but a tour is planned for early 2010. The singer, whose vocal cord problems caused them to cancel the Europeean tour and the Stockholm concert in 200, is now fully recovered.
"It is hard to know when to pull the emergency brake, when you've been working too much. It took a long time to process, so I'm more cautious now, "he says.

NRJ Radio Interview Translation!

Host:“How are you!?”
TH: we feel fine. It’s just a bit early for us.
Knappen: Ah, we have a translator in the studio that helps us to translate the german. Both me and Hakim have read german in the school. But ours isn’t so good.
Hakim: Yes. What did you think about our german? “Ich heisse Hakim und ich habe deutsch in Schule gelernt“. (My name is Hakim and I have learned german in school)
-laughter from the boys-
Georg: wow, ganz gut. (Pretty good).
Host: Sehr gut! (really good).
One of the twins: Sehr gut!
Host: Super! Welcome to Sweden boys. I heard that yoy flew in from Hamburg last night.
Bill: Yeah, we arrived yesterday and went to bed pretty late. We are still very tired but it’s fun to be here.
Host: It’s nice to have you here. How long are you going to stay?
Bill: We leave this evening, tonight to Helsingfors and then back to Germany, right now we have a lot travells and things to do. But we hope that it will be a great time.
Host: Are you only out for promotion or are you going to perform as well?
Bill: This time we are only doing PR but we hope to be back soon and be able to play live.
Host: We look forward to having you here for a concert of course. So ehm I have to ask you guys because people have been asking me “Tokio Hotel, who are these guys?”. In Sweden some people just love you guys and listen to you all the time and some people don’t hardly know what you guys are. Howdid you become this big?
Bill: Honestly we don’t have a reciept for that. We don’t really know. We’ve been a band for almost 10 years and started really early and five years ago the break through came and we don’t know how. We just enjoy the time and think it’s fun that we have support from the fans.
Host: How did it happen? Did it happe nover a night or?
Bill: Yeah, it really happened over the night it was in the summer.
Host: 2005 that’s when you released the super hit I think that made you very big first in Germany and then all over the place. Monsoon. Tell us a little bit about Monsoon.
Bill: well it’s of course a really special thing for us and everytime we hear the memories keeps coming and so on. We have done so much, travelled to many countries and having huge success with our first singel and our first video. And of course we’re really attached to the song.
Host: That’s exciting guys! How about we listen to the song and and talk about your new record that’s coming up soon.
TH: yeah.
Host: So we start out with a really special song for the guys in Tokio Hotel.
-plays Monsoon and Flipsyde – When it was good-
Host: NRJ morning with Knappen and Hakim. It’s 8.15 and Flipsyde When it was good. This is Knappen, Hakim and Tokio Hotel that is here. We’ve been during the songs, we’ve been talking about driving. What’s the question? What is the best thing about Germany.
-laughter-
Bill: I believe that the best thing is that in Germany you can drive in a fast without a limit. And that there are places where you really can speed up and it’s really nice. And we can drive in 300km/h at some parts in Germany.
Host: In Sweden it’s only the king that can be driving 300 km/h. He can do it without getting charged.
-laughter-
Bill: you most come and visit us! You’re gladly invited!
Host: So they’re inviting us to Autobahn to drive like crazy. One of you guys has just lost his license.
- evil laughter from TH-
Host: Could that be the drummer?
TH: Yes. Maybe. It’s totally crazy! It wasn’t really a thing to loose it over.
Host: What happened?
TH: A serial(series?) crash.
Host: serial crash? And you were causing it? Or was it your fault?
TH: yes.
-laughter-
Host: What did you do? Did you went in the car I’m a rockstar dudududu?
Gustav: I forgot to look in the mirror.
Host: Ah, dammit!
Gustav: And then a tram came...
Host: Dammit!
-laughter-
Host: that sounds crazy! You were lucky not to get hurt. Or were you? Did you get injured?
TH: Yes, a little in the head.
Host: But you’re recovering now?
Tom: he can only say some words at a time.
Host: It’s Tom that takes over here. Bill and Tom are the one that talks the most. So guys I know that you’ve been working on your new record and the fans have been waiting for it. They’ve been sitting up all night waiting for you to release the album. Tell us!
Bill: We’ve been producing during a year and really taken the time and we’ve been writing for a long time and recorded in Germany and in America. And we are very pleased and it will be exciting to hear what the fans will be saying it’s really exciting!
Host: Funny, you’ve been around the world recording this have you’ve been working with producers that we know about?
Bill: yes, we’ve mostly been working with our four producers that we’ve already made the first albums with. And we’ve done recordings in Miami but we’ve been a lot in Germany with our families and we also got two studios there. So we work in different places.
Host: Ah, you’re bringing the studios all over the world. Tom! I think Knappen has a question for you.
Knappen: Yeah, actually we’ve been talking about this and I’ve benn thinking about it. We played the Flipsyde a couple of seconds ago and the music stopped.
Tom: when I heard that song a knew that this question would come!
Host: We’re asking and the fans have been wondering about girls. Do you guys have girlfriends?
Bill: Yeah it’s only Georg that has one.
Host: The only one?
Georg: Yes.
Bill: I have to say I would like to answer something else. It’s sad but since I work with Tokio Hotel there’s no time for relationships and it’s only Georg that is lucky. We other are unfortunately not in love.
-awww-
Host: So Tom, about the rumours about Chantelle in Flipsyde.
Tom: what are these rumours?
Host: Thay you’ve been hanging out, that you’ve been dating. Is that true?
Tom: Of course you can call it hanging out.
Hakim: Knappen is in love with Chantelle. We met her. She was at our concert NRJ in the park this summer. And you know Knappen hardly could speak to her.
Knappen: That’s not true! But if you’re just hanging out, you’re not dating. Cause then I would like to have...
Tom: It’s a matter of how you look at the question.
Host: Ok, he put his head in the water. So guys, you’re new album. The first singel from the new album is called Automatic. I’ve listened to the german version but I haven’t heard the english one. But that’s the one we’re gonna play now.
TH: OK.
Host: Tell us a little about the first singel.
Bill: It’s really energetic and we all knew how the first singel should be like. It’s about automatic feelings. About a girl that doesn’t have real feelings, she only pretends.
Host: Ok. Let’s listen to the song and then we’ll get back and talk to you a little bit more.
Host: This is NRJ morning with Knappen and Hakim and we have Tokio Hotel here on set.
TH: YO!
Host: It’s very nice to have you here. A real priviliged. Härligt (nice). Haerligt. –laughter- what are you guys gonna do, what are you up today? Visit papers and are you gonna work? What’s the plan?
Bill: ehm. Soon we will begin with our first interview. And it’s unusual to have it like this morning but later we will do a lot of interviews.
Host: Rockstars they don’t get up this early.
Bill: Yeah! We don’t start working until 2 pm.
Host: ah, we’re very, very honoured to have you here guys.
-laughter-
Host: That’s from the bottom of my heart.
-laughter-
Host: Not kidding! Nothing to laugh at! We have a bunch of questions from our fans. More than 500 questions. Our fans? From your fans of course!
-laughter-
Host: And we’re thinking about asking some of them if that’s ok? I can start with the one in german here. So now I’ll try to ask a fucking question in german. Hallo! Ich möchte... what?.. fragen...
Other host: the translator help us.
Host: können sich ein Mädchen auserhalb der Deutschland verlieben? (the question was if they can fall in love with a girl that’s not from Germany)
-laughter-
TH: Really good!
Bill: Yes, I believe that we couldfall in love, it doesn’t matter wich country the girl is from. If I fall in love doesn’t matter where she’s from or wich color her hair has.
Tom: I’ve been having sex around the world! It’s pretty good.
Host: What? Has he had sex in the whole world? Did he say that? –turns to translator-
Translator: yes, he said that.
Host: Dirty boy! What kind of girls do you fall for?
Bill: I don’t know. I must take a first look. I can look into her soul and then I can fall in love. It’s not a special sort of women is just has to happen.
Host: tom is holding up a Slitz newspaper here (kinda like playboy or FHM) with a photo of some swedish girl or maybe she’s norwegian, I don’t know.
-laughter-
Host: But you like swedish girls?
Tom: yeah, if it’s like the magazine is promising they look kinda good.
Host: I’m gonna tell Chantelle about that!
-laughter-
Host: Next question is from Lina in Stockholm. She is wondering what’s your best pick up line?
Bill: I believe there’s only bad ones.
Tom: Hi, my name is Tom.
Host: That’s a good one. Hi, my name is Tom. Do you think I can try that one? Hi, my name is Tom.
Tom: Yeah! –laughs-
Host: will it work?
Tom: try!.
Host: This question I really enjoy. It’s from Sofie in Uppsala. It’s not really a question. She wants you guys to do something. She writes here that she’s standing outside and there is a thing you could do that could make all the fans die. So now we’re going to do a massacre here. Eh, could Bill say “Hey sexy” with his most sexy voice...
Bill: OK.
Host: Most sexiest voice possible. Silence.
-Bill says Hey Sexy really weird and Tom also says it in the background and probably Gustav and Georg too?-
-laughter-
Host: The whole groups says it! Ok, so now you have... Half of the fans outside have now died.
-laughter-

Tom and Bill smarter than psychologists?

Welt.de: “Being an adult is relative”
Children, time flies by: The Teen Stars from Tokio Hotel are almost twenty. Bill and Tom Kaulitz talk of crashes, with 15, their luck, to go shopping theirselves, and why they prefer to talk to Grandma’s.

“Bill Kaulitz never leaves the house unvarnished,” says the woman from the record company. The time in the mask must therefore always be calculated at appointments. And when the petite young man stands in front of you, you get a slight idea of how much time he needs for his appearance. Among the perfectly coiffed black and blond dreadlocks, a composition of a black and white line graces his eyelids, and his suitably painted nails. The hands in leather gloves have difficulty to arrange the mass of chains that are attached to his black shirt. His twin Tom is sitting next to him, on a couch in a hotel room with pink painted walls. He fancies himself as a street rocker with a leather jacket and braided hair. Not less expensive, but not as striking. Two ordinary guys in pop-star attire.

WamS: Bill, Tom, both your birthdays are on September 1st, what do you desire?

Bill: I want to be together with my family, see my friends and drink coffee. I love coffee, I drink gallons of it. And I’d like a round of coffee with cream pies. And it would be great if everyone would be older than 60. Thus, a real coffee party.

Tom: Coversations with old people result in coversations that are completely off the beaten track. They have quite different thoughts. This would be great, every Sunday a coffee-party

WamS: Do you have any material desires?

Bill Kaulitz: I don’t.

WamS: A new car, maybe?

Tom Kaulitz: I think, that there’s no one who would give me something physical as a present. But sure, I would be happy about a new car.

WamS: You’re turning 20. Are you an adult?

Bill Kaulitz: I think I’ll never grow up. But growing up is relative. I already thought when I was 13 that I can do whatever I want. Go into Clubs and drink alcohol – I always felt older than I really am.

WamS: Via distance learning you finished secondary school and got awarded for a particularly good performance.

Bill: This is almost embarrassing, right?

WamS: A little bit.

Bill: Tom and I hated going to school. That was the worst time in our lives. I feel sorry for everyone who goes to school.

WamS: What was so bad about it?

Tom: Most of all we were scandalized because of our appearance in the school. But I think that the worst of all is, that the personality of each individual get’s totally suppressed in school.

Bill: Tom and I got transferred into two different classes for disciplinary reasons in 7th Grade. We were really rebellious children, and almost got expelled from school. But not because of drugs or fights. But because of discussions, which the teachers simply weren’t up to. And then you realize that pedagogy comes much too short in teacher education. A lot of people simply slip into the study because they see no other way. But if you want to be a teacher, you really have to want it and you have to have the passion for this job.

WamS: A lot of your fans take you as their role model. Are there any values that you want to convey?

Tom: We really don’t think of ourselves as role models.

WamS: But you exemplify it a little bit. Are you aware of this?

Tom: No, very often not. You have to free yourself of this. We have very limited free space anyway. I don’t want to suddenly pay attention to not use swear words in interviews.

WamS: But you, for example, supported an Anti-AIDS campaign.

Tom: Of course, sometimes we try to stand up for things which we think are important. But in the end: I hate this “Role-Model-Position” (Cmmt: Like, people always taking them as an example, pointing the fingers at them etc.). I don’t want to turn into something like this.

WamS: Will you vote?

Tom: Uhm, yes. Let’s see.

Bill: Then, in any case, the first time.

WamS: What’s the percentage of normalcy in your life?

Bill: 1%.

WamS: Is it the same as with the international stars, that you can’t even go shopping?

Tom: Yes, absolutely. When we started making music, we were at an age where our parents bought everything for us – now we’re at an age where we need to do this by ourselves but we can’t.

Bill: It sounds kind of cool to have a personal assistant, who get’s you everything you want. But I would also like to choose my yogurt by myself.

Tom: In the U.S., there are also supermarkets, which are open 24 hours a day. You can go down there at four in the night, when nobody else is there. We once walked into the toy department, and bought everything. Guns with arrows or remote-controlled cars.

Bill: And then we shot off the cars with the arrows. Totally ridiculous.

WamS: And how do you buy your clothes?

Bill: Usually trough the Internet or from catalogs. Totally Boring. But sometimes you have to jump over your own shadow (get over yourself). Fuck it, if photographers and fans are outside the door. Sometimes you have to go out, you need this little piece of normalcy to live.

WamS: What’s on your catering wish list?

Bill: Actually, every year there’s a new one. And I must admit that it’s pretty long. But we are at home so seldom, that we always try to make it as comfy as possible. The most important things are coffee and real blankets in the hotels. These wool-blankets are the worst. Because they make you feel like you’re at a camp. That is what is most important to me, a real blanket and pillow.

WamS: Do you still have normal friendships from the past?

Bill: Only (from the past). In the Tokio Hotel time we didn’t get to know any new friends because we can’t even really get to know each other. Everyone who meets us, already has an opinion about us.

WamS: Are you extra-cautious with getting in touch with new people because you have often been deceived?

Tom: Yes, most of the times from hidden-editors. We had had extreme experiences at the beginning of our career. At 15 we were at every after-show party and we have, of course, been drinking alcohol. Back then, it was like this: You drank a sip of alcohol, and then the next day the editors called the Youth Welfare Office who wanted to call off the project (Cmmt: With the Project they mean their career as Tokio Hotel) completely.

WamS: But you probably get coached in how to deal with such situations.

Tom: No, we never did. And I do not even want someone who tells me how I should respond to the questions.

Bill: You have to learn this by yourself, by bolting into such a situation and then living with the fact that sometimes also bad things are written about you in the newspapers.

WamS: Do you get psychological support for such cases?

Tom: Our family and friends are our psychological support. I could imagine getting professional help, but there’s the problem with the time again.

Bill: I can understand, when people do that. The problem is, I don’t believe in it.

Tom: I also always think I’m smarter than the psychologist himself.

Bill: Exactly. Everything I tell you, I tell you deliberately, because it’s my problem. And then the psychologist would say: Yes, you need to take some time to think about it. And then I think to myself: Great, I also knew this before.

Iloveradio.de interview part 2

Welcome back, guys!

Tokio Hotel celebrated their live comeback in Germany with their unplugged appearance in Köln this week. Backstage they gave a half hour for an interview with I LOVE RADIO.

In the first part of our interview Bill, Tom, Gustav and Georg speak about their new album "Humanoid," their new songs and their new sound. click here for the interview, part one, with all answers in audio files! (Translator's Note: or just go back to where I posted the other entry hurrr.)

There is still more that is new: in "BRAVO" Tokio Hotel bassist Georg told for the first time of his girlfriend, with whom he is already with for half a year! Why did no one know about her until now? Georg explains it in conversation with I LOVE RADIO.

Have fun with our exclusive backstage interview Part 2! I LOVE RADIO publishes all answers from Tokio Hotel as Audio Files - click here! (Translator's Note: Or in our case click "Source")

Georg, did you want to keep your girlfriend secret?

Georg: No - well, yeah, I have a new girlfriend. But I haven't kept her secret for the last half year, but instead we had no interviews, and no one has asked me!

Bill: We really never try to keep secrets. I think that when one of us has a girlfriend, it's the most normal thing in the world. I find it completely embarrassing if Boygroups try to keep it secret in order for girls to buy their CDs. It is completely ridiculous. So we actually always say if we have a girlfriend. Actually I think it's rather sad that only one of us has one. But so it is!

How and where could you ever meet a potential girlfriend?

Bill: Tom and I never go out in private. We are always working, where there's simply none, and when you go somewhere it's an Aftershow party - although we're also not like those that go to every party. Actually to go out privately or to go to the cinema, that is not possible.

Georg: Gustav and I can still move about relatively freely in Magdeburg. That happens sometimes. I met my girlfriend then.

Bill: So that's what's missing, in any case. That is of course the biggest downside. We can't spontaneously say: okay now I'm going with a buddy or with my friends to eat ice cream, or drink coffee, or we spontaneously go some evenings to the club. So everything, what you do, is always planned out, and you are never alone. You always have someone with you - yeah, it's naturally not so great. But I have to say, then there are the moments when we simply stand on stage, and many, many thousands of fans hear our music, and that makes it good again in any case.

Tokio Hotel talks about their new album!

Tokio Hotel Interview about the new Album "Humanoid"

Tokio Hotel Interview Part 1

After the unplugged appearance from Tokio Hotel in Köln, Bill, Tom, Gustav, and Georg patiently write autographs for 1,000(!) fans! I LOVE RADIO listener Alicia took the chance and photographed Bill from less than 1 meter. Thanks for your photo, Alicia!

Backstage Tokio Hotel took half an hour for an interview with I LOVE RADIO.

For the first time Tokio Hotel speaks about their new album "Humanoid" and revealed which other new album track other than "Automatisch"/"Automatic" will be released on September 18 on the first single.

Have fun with our exclusive backstage interview, part 1! I LOVE RADIO publishes all answers from Tokio Hotel as audio files - click here! {note: or in our case, click on the "source" at the bottom to go hear Bill ganz his way around}

"Humanoid" - what does that really mean?

Bill: Humanoid was a feeling of life that we always had. Even Tom and I had that from when we were little, that followed us and it has caught up with us again and again in the album production phase. Even in the songwriting it's always encountered us. It was obvious to call the album so.

Bill: "Automatisch" is about a girl that has no true feelings and she only pretends. We wanted to convey that with the cover, in which we have this robot arm - and the most human thing there is, namely the heart. I think that describes the whole song very well, and the feeling of the song.

Tom: The picture is just cool. At the first glance the cover may seem a bit gloomy, but I think if you examine it more closely and look at it a bit longer, it's not quite so gloomy. I think it is very atmospheric.

Will we still recognize you on the new album "Humanoid," or does your music sound quite different from before?

Bill: The track "Humanoid" actually describes it quite well, that it is a very different song, also from the song structure, in the structure of the song we really freed ourselves. I'm pretty excited what people say about it! It will also be on the single. Otherwise the last time and the last year of songwriting has naturally influenced us a lot. I don't want to give anything else away, but I think that you hear it in any case!

Tomorrow will be personal: in the second part of our interview Georg explains why he has just now said that he has had a girlfriend for a half a year. What happened in the last year that we know nothing about yet? Tomorrow you will know more: turn on I LOVE RADIO and check our news blog here on ILOVERADIO.de.

What does Bill want for his birthday?

Tokio Hotel singer Bill Kaulitz wishes for a round of coffee with cream tarts for his 20th birthday on Tuesday (1st of September). And it would be cool if the guests were all over 60, he told Welt am Sonntag. "So a proper coffee party." Bill's twin brother and Tokio Hotel guitarist Tom Kaulitz added: "With older people you can carry on completely different conversations. They have quite different thoughts."

Although they are both nearly 20, Bill Kaulitz thinks, he "Will never grow up". However, the thought also occurred to him. "I already thought at 13 that I could do everything, and I felt old enough to go to clubs and drink alcohol", said the musician. He has always felt older than he is.

The third album of Tokio Hotel, "Humanoid", appears on the 2nd of October. The first single, "Automatisch", is being released on the 18th of September.

Bill got a new piercing?

Bill got a new piercing. That's all there really is to say.

Bill in Minimoys 2!!

Berlin – Bill Kaulitz, Lead singer of Germany’s most successful international band, TOKYO HOTEL, is again the prominent voice of the central figure Arthur in Luc Besson’s Arthur und the Minimoys 2 – The Revenge of Bad M.. German dub of the real fantasy and CGI-Fantasy is being released on the 26th of November, 2009 by the film rental company TOBIS.

Bill Kaulitz slips for the second time into the role of the courageous hero Arthur. In 2007 the singer had taken over this role once before.

About his renewed engagement of synchronous work for Arthur und the Minimoys 2 the 19-year-old tells us enthusiastically:

“When I saw Arthur und the Minimoys 2, I was inspired again immediately. It pleases me that the history of Arthur goes on and it pleases me to be able to give him once again my voice. I was excited of course! It is still not a daily thing for me to stand as a synchronous speaker behind the microphone and it was also a little bit like a homecoming. Arthur has become dear to me.”

Today marks the anniversary of the Cleveland Concert last year. So, in remembrance, here's a RYHT live!

New Article + Pictures!

Bravo printed a new article in the paper about TH, here it is.
" Bravo: Tokio Hotel – returning with a surprising new song? The entire world is in expectation of a new song from Tokio Hotel – is simply: Bravo! Crazy! Only four weeks, then it will begin again, Bill, Tom, Georg and Gustav rock! In the middle of September Tokio Hotel release their first new song in two and a half years and now in: BRAVO! It is called “automatic” – the song is about a false romance feeling. The third album will be published in October – “humanoid” it will be titled in the whole world in German and English at the same time. But not only the fans are satisfied that the new disc is finished finally. The band is happy! Says singer Bill: “I cannot believe that finally we finished production. The album has taken almost an entire year!” Reason for the length of time it took for production: the recording must be carried out in a relaxed way, without pressure. Manager David Jost says:” Sometimes, when we were in the middle of the recording, Bill was taking ideas from his bag, and accidentally to find a role with the ideas of songs. Like a squirrel, which in winter is in search of some dry fruits. Next, we had to interrupt the production, and we made it the first demo with old ideas of songs “. Thanks to the word of the band we could prove very much – even new musical styles! So you also will listen to it, Tokio Hotel – rock mixes in the sound of electro! They have also changed in terms of appearance. Especially the change in the crazy twins of TH, Bill (black and white cornrows, makeup like the eyes of a cat) and Tom (black, big cornrows). Good news:they’re planning a big comeback-tour! Bill says, happily: “Soon there will no longer be days and nights spent in the recording study, but we will spend the time in tour-bus again." "

And the pics. Sexaayy!!

Better Quality

Here's a better quality version of the newspaper picture from today.

New Article about Humanoid!

"[The new songs] handle about our mood, new thoughts and reflections, and also new wishes and hopes. ... We have a song but there are many different ways to interpret the song. And we have to find the best interpretation. We, then start to experiment with each song by changing the guitar-sounds or modifying my voice."

The pictures just keep rolling out.

Seriously, how much sexier can these boys get? Glam to the maxxx!

Close up of Bill!

Here's a closeup of Bill from yesterdays photo. Sexy Hexy!

Leaked Lyrics?

Not too sure how credible these are, but check them out anyway.

German:

Automatisch

So automatisch
Du bist wie 'ne Maschine
Dein Herz schlägt nicht mehr für mich

So automatisch
Berühren mich
Deine Hände
Spür alles, nur nicht dich

So automatisch
Deine Stimme - elektrisch
Wo bist du, wenn sie spricht?

So automatisch
Wie du sagst, ich bin dir wichtig
wer programmiert dich?

Refrain:
Wenn du lachst
Lachst du nicht
Wenn du weinst
Weinst du nicht
Wenn du fühlst
Fühlst du nichts
Weil du ohne Liebe bist

Wie automatisch
Renn ich durch alle Straßen
Und keine führt zu dir

Wie automatisch
Folgen mir deine Schatten
Und greifen kalt nach mir

Du bist wie
Ferngesteuert
Statisch und
Mechanisch
So automatisch

Dein Blick so leer
Ich kann nicht mehr
Alles an dir
Wie einstudiert
Du stehst vor mir

English :

Automatic

So automatic
You're like a machine
Your heart beats no more for me

So automatic
Touching Me
His hands
Feel everything, but not you

So automatic
his voice - electric
Where were you when she speaks?

So automatic
As you say, I'm important to you
who programmed you?

Chorus:
If you laugh
You do not laugh
If you cry
Do you weep not
If you feel
You feel nothing
Because you're without love

How so automatically
I race through all the streets
And do not lead to you

How so automatically
Follow me your shadow
And use cold for me

You're like
Remote
Static and
Mechanical
To automatically

Your look so empty
I can no longer
Everything to you
As rehearsed
You stand before me

What do you guys think about it?

"Director David Wilson produced a clip for „You Came Out“ in the style of a flip-book based on 4816 pictures! I’m not really into this kind of music but the end result definitely turned out well. The idea especially for the video rocks and I really like the technique he used!"
